I have always loved learning and hold a huge passion for any creative opportunities. I was born and raised in Southern California. My focus was interior design before marrying (Canadian husband, Frank) and moving to Canada permanently  in 2009. After becoming a stay at mom in 2010, I felt the urge to find a creative outlet so I began to explore baking, specifically decorating. The design aspect really caught my attention. I started teaching myself decorative sugar cookies. Shortly after in 2012, I created a small home business that was located in St Albert, Alberta called Sweet Medley. Sweet Medley offered a range of baked goods from cookies to custom cakes. It really helped to me get to know my community. 

In 2018 I took a short break to focus more on my family. The break only lasted a couple years as I missed it so much that I decided to start baking again in January 2021. I was refreshed and ready to go with a new name and fresh ideas! I instantly knew I wanted it to be called Wishes Bake Shop. I love the meaning behind the word wishes and everyone makes or has wishes! Birthday wishes are part of the birthday magic! I "wished" one day Wishes Bake Shop will open a storefront and what do you know happened! By the end of 2021 I was signed a lease on start on this new journey. Wishes opened its doors December 2, 2022. The store has created a loving community that didn't think was even possible. The support has been incredible. I'm so thankful. 

One of my favorite things about my baking and decorating is that no two orders are alike. Each one has a creative expression and meaning behind it. I love being able to use my creative ideas, images, exterior inspirations and turn them into edible art. Most importantly I love sharing a little piece of my heart and creativeness in every dessert. Thankful for the opportunity to make moments and days a little sweeter. Thank you, this gift is never taken for granted. 

5 Fun Facts:

1. I actually don't like to eat sweets or candy. Chips, salsa, anything spicy and/or savory are my go to!
2. I'm 100% Mexican and fluent in Spanish. My husband is Czech and we call our kids "Czech-a-cans" as they are a unique commination.
3. My immediate family consists of 2 kids, husband Frank & 1 giant Pyre-doodle. All of my other family is back in California and Mexico. 
4. Haven't really had any alcoholic beverages in over a decade. Not a fan of drinking but I do love coffee & Coke Zero.
5. I'm a huge morning person, like jump out of bed excited at 5am to start my day! I love that each morning brings a fresh new start!
